Selena Gomez on the cover of <i>Cosmopolitan</i>

Selena Gomez turns the big 2-0 later this year, and she seems to be leaving her tween image behind. The 19-year-old is the latest teen star to appear on the cover of Cosmopolitan, following last month's issue of the women's magazine, featuring 17-year-old Dakota Fanning.
For her first cover for the magazine, Gomez dons a low-cut, floral-print dress as she looks rather seductively into the camera. She's sitting with her one leg perched in front of her body, displaying a saucier side of herself than fans might be used to seeing.
Inside the issue, she's talking all about love, opening up about her longtime boyfriend, Justin Bieber. "I'm just like every 19-year-old girl," she said. "If you're in love, you're in love to the fullest, and you just want to go to the movies, hang out, and be as normal as possible. I'm fortunate that I've found someone who has that philosophy."
In another Cosmo quote floating around online, Gomez dishes on a past boyfriend (Taylor Lautner? Nick Jonas?) who didn't make things as easy on her. "I was in a relationship previously where I had to hide everything and it wasn't my choice. I had to go through different exits and take separate cars and do the craziest things, and it just really wasn't worth it," she explained. "It was like a year of my life completely wasted."
The more mature magazine cover comes as Gomez prepares for the next phase of her career. In the coming weeks, she'll hit the set for her next film, the more adult-themed "Spring Breakers," which follows a group of college girls who rob a restaurant to pay for their spring break. When they land in jail, a drug and arms dealer bails them out, and they quickly become entangled with him and his business.
"It's a different character than I have ever played before," she told MTV News about the film, which will be directed by "Kids" mastermind Harmony Korine. "It's a different kind of vibe I think than people are used to seeing me in. What you're going to see is more raw, I think. It's going to be raw and more about acting."

'Dark Knight Rises': Who Is Joseph Gordon-Levitt Really Playing?
Joseph Gordon-Levitt films a scene of "Dark Knight Rises"

Who the hell is John Blake?
It was the question most of us asked when Joseph Gordon-Levitt joined the cast of "The Dark Knight Rises" last year. The little bit Warner Bros. told us labeled Blake as "a Gotham City beat cop assigned to special duty under the command of Commissioner Gordon." It's not exactly the kind of character description you'd expect from such a big-name actor in one of Christopher Nolan's Batman films.
Such a nondescript character begs the question: Who is he really? We did the same last week with Marion Cotillard's Miranda Tate, and this week, we're taking a deep dive into just who this mysterious man in blue might be.
A short while after Warner Bros. revealed John Blake as a character in "The Dark Knight Rises," hard-core comic book nerds did their due diligence and found the one trace of the name that dates all the way back to 1942. Little Johnny Blake appears in an issue of "Batman," where Joker goes around making the people of Gotham cry, one citizen at a time. Poor Johnny Blake had just received a great report card, but the Joker comes along and snatches it. Now Dad will never believe him!
If we're going to speculate, it's safe to assume that Nolan won't surprise everyone with a gritty, realistic take on the whole "stolen report card" story line. There's no hard evidence other than the shared named that Gordon-Levitt's John Blake has anything to do with the unfortunate, terrorized little boy from the comics.
With the source material more or less a dead end, that leaves the vague official character description and two of the Internet's favorite theories. One posits that Blake will be a much more rugged Robin. Another hypothesizes that he will don the Batman cowl after Bruce Wayne dies or retires.
Fans have been quick to cry "Robin!" since "Batman Begins." (What's the Dark Knight without his young ward, after all?) But there is nothing that Nolan has been as adamant about as his conviction to never feature the Boy Wonder in his Batman films. Yet, Robin champions abide, even finding false clues of his presence in the "Dark Knight Rises" trailer. Nolan said he won't include Robin, so there's little reason to suspect him of doing anything else.
More daring theorists guess that Blake will go through the majority of the movie as the beat cop he's described to be but eventually become the new Batman once Wayne is out of the picture, either due to injury or — gulp — death. Supporters of this theory point to Bane's legacy of destroying Batman and Wayne's use of a cane in the trailer.
I find myself not only favoring the second theory, but actively hoping that it comes to fruition. So much of the lead-up to the film has centered on the idea of "the legend." Ra's Al Ghul speaks in the trailer about Wayne becoming more than a man. "The Legend Ends" even adorns the most recent poster, yet the two messages directly contradict each other. If Wayne commits himself to an ideal, he'll become an unstoppable legend, and the entire concept of Batman demands that the legend cannot end. What better way to prove that point than to break Wayne, remove the man and yet have the legend continue?
Gordon-Levitt's inclusion in the cast essentially requires Blake to play a major role, more than any official description would allow him. Bet on Blake being a big part of the film, but what the role may entail will only be answered in July.
What would you like to see from Joseph Gordon-Levitt in "The Dark Knight Rises"? Let me know on Twitter via @KPSull!

'Man On A Ledge': The Reviews Are In!
Sam Worthington in "Man on a Ledge"
Photo: Summit
If your impressions about the new action thriller "Man on a Ledge" are based on the film's very-literal title, you're very likely correct in assuming to know a decent amount about the film before entering the theater. "Ledge" is the story of ex-cop and fugitive Nick Cassidy (Sam Worthington), whose seemingly obvious suicidal plan to jump off a building is slowly revealed to be something much more.
Thus far, the critical reception for the film is very different from initial audience reactions. The Rotten Tomatoes Tomatometer has "Ledge" at a 22 percent fresh rating from critics, versus a 65 percent fresh audience rating.
Read on to see what has the two viewing bodies so divided as we sift through the "Man on a Ledge" reviews:
The Premise
"It's an arresting image, Sam Worthington out on that 40th-story ledge. He's a fairly tough-looking guy, after all, and we know him best as the tooth-gritting blockbuster hero of 'Avatar' and 'Clash of the Titans,' so it's head-spinning to see the man's beefy figure as a speck hovering so precariously close to New York's infinite sky. The camera swirls around Worthington's disgraced former cop Nick Cassidy, inching out past that thin strip of architecture, then back in. What if he trips, or jumps? For a while, anything seems possible, and it's both exhilarating and terrifying. Then the wool comes off, and it's clear that director Asger Leth and screenwriter Pablo Fenjves have ambitions considerably less grand than their protagonist's perch. Cassidy's ledge game — with all the studio-unfriendly moral ambiguities it entails — is just a con, a photo op for the crowds, and Nick's apparent desire to exit the material world is a front. What he truly, passionately wants to do is steal some jewelry." — Andrew Lapin, NPR
The Impact of Practical Effect
"I, on the other hand, was gripping anything in reach, palms dripping, thinking I might not have survived the effects had they been 3-D. Though there were other production sites, serious time was spent actually shooting on that 14-inch ledge wrapping the 21st floor of the Roosevelt Hotel to create the vicarious sensation of being there. Which worked frighteningly well, at least for the vertiginous among us. Oh, that the actual human dynamics of the unfolding story could have been as dramatic, as on the edge as that ledge." — Betsy Sharkey, Los Angeles Times
The Direction
"Mr. Leth, the son of renowned Danish documentarian Jorgen Leth, has directed only one other film, 'Ghosts of Cité Soleil,' a highly stylized doc that revealed a soul yearning to breathe free of nonfiction. He has an instinct for weaving sturdy narrative fabric out of intersecting plot lines. ... Amid the hoopla, Mr. Leth takes sobering assessment of media-circuses and mob mentalities: The people down below taking cellphone pictures, the ones yelling 'Jump!'; the callous nature of cops for whom it's all routine. There's the occasional goofy grace note: Kyra Sedgwick, playing a voracious and obviously Anglo television reporter named Suzie Morales, rolls the 'R' in her surname as she signs off, just in case someone missed the point (we've all heard it). In another scene, Mr. Leth takes such pains to strip the shapely Ms. Rodriguez down to her underwear that audiences, who may well be leering, will also be laughing at how obvious it is." — John Anderson, Wall Street Journal
The Final Word, Pro/Con Style
"Director Asger Leth, making his U.S. feature-film debut with 'Man on a Ledge,' keeps the pace brisk and never allows the tone to stray into self-seriousness, which is crucial for a movie whose premise is so devoutly ridiculous. The script, from Pablo F. Fenjves, provides enough feints and twists to keep us engaged. Jamie Bell and Genesis Rodriguez aren't the most believable of couples, but there's a screwball charm to their comic routine as amateur thieves charged with aiding Nick's scheme. (Leth can't resist inserting an entirely superfluous — but nonetheless greatly appreciated — scene of the criminally gorgeous Rodriguez stripping down to a thong in the middle of a heist.) Worthington makes for a likable populist protagonist, even if his Australian accent betrays him on copious occasions, and Harris' disturbingly emaciated frame lends an added menace to his devious plutocrat villain." — Thomas Leupp, Hollywood.com
"Like last year's action comedy 'Tower Heist,' 'Man on a Ledge' becomes something of a parable of the 99 percent, with Cassidy initially an object of prurient interest for the massed crowds below, then becoming a blue-collar folk hero. That gives the movie at least a frisson of contemporary relevance, but the filmmakers blow that advantage with plot and characterization that require not just a suspension of disbelief but a suspension of eye-rolling reflexes and the nagging impulse to burst into derisive laughter." — Ann Hornaday, Washington Post

Dimmu Borgir Release Live DVD; Plus Led Zeppelin, Brujeria, & More News That Rules, In Metal File
By Chris Harris
Dimmu Borgir's Silenoz

<P>On October 14, <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/borgir_dimmu/artist.jhtml">Dimmu Borgir</a>Dimmu Borgir — who just happen to be <a href="/news/articles/1593780/demi-lovato-metalhead-metal-file.jhtml">Demi Lovato's favorite black-metal band</a> — will release a a three-disc DVD/CD set called "The Invaluable Darkness," the band's first visual offering since 2002's "World Misanthropy." Boasting live footage shot last year, during gigs in Norway, Germany and England, "The Invaluable Darkness" demonstrates the unbridled furor of seeing Dimmu live, guitarist Silenoz said.
"It shows the honest rawness and atmospheric darkness of our concerts," the Norwegian told <i>Metal File</i> last week, after <a href="/news/articles/1596201/in-this-moment-make-the-dream-a-reality-metal-file.jhtml">dismissing recent online rumors that his band's next LP would be coming out through Roadrunner Records</a>. "Basically, it shows the intense live side of the band, as opposed to the perfection and the cleanness of how we sound on our albums. It's just a different side to the band, basically."
Dimmu Borgir began thinking about "The Invaluable Darkness" two years ago, but didn't start capturing footage until last summer, Silenoz explained, adding that the band will use its current stint on the Blackest of the Black Tour — which got underway Thursday night in Miami Beach, Florida, and also features the tour's founder, Danzig, along with
<a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/moonspell/artist.jhtml">Moonspell</a>Moonspell, <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/winds_of_plague/artist.jhtml">Winds of Plague</a>Winds of Plague and Skeletonwitch — to promote the DVD. Dimmu Borgir will not, however, use the tour to write material for their next LP.
"It's our first time on Blackest, but Glenn [Danzig] had wanted to bring us out before [on the tour], but we weren't available until now," Silenoz said. "We've done Ozzfest before, but we're looking forward to this tour more. We did the main stage on Ozzfest, playing in f--_ing broad daylight. This tour will let us play in bigger places, but at the same time showcase more of what the band's about, visually. We are going to concentrate on the tour for now. Some years ago, we tried putting [material] together on the road, but once we got home, we listened back to it, and were like, 'What the f--- <i>is</i> this?' So, we just scrapped it all. We find it's so much better to totally focus on one thing at a time, and then, when that's over, you move on to the next [thing]. We don't really feel like we need to rush things, anyway, so we'll just take our time, and it's going to be what it's going to be."
Dimmu Borgir hope to reconvene in late December to begin writing the follow-up to 2007's diabolically titled <i>In Sorte Diaboli.</i> "We have some ideas floating around already, but we haven't arranged any material yet," he said. "We'll start doing that once the touring for this DVD is over." The band's frontman, Shagrath, is also due to marry soon — he's engaged to actor Nicolas Cage's ex-girlfriend, Christina Fulton, so that may have an effect on when Dimmu finish their next album, which Silenoz said could be out this coming spring.
"I'm sure [Shagrath] won't let anything get in the way [of] the band — I think, I hope," the guitarist said. "We don't need a Yoko [Ono] situation."
While Dimmu have been at it going on 15 years now, Silenoz said he doesn't think their forthcoming material will be much of a departure from their previous black-metal offerings.
"And we have always been about more than just that term, 'black metal,' " he said. "Luckily for us, the older you get, the less concerned you get with the categorization and putting labels on your music. Things start getting more and more limitless with us, and we know that we operate within certain frames. But we try not to analyze things too much, because it's just going to be working against you in the end. When we write new stuff, we don't think about what we should write — we just get together, and put material together, and if we like it, we keep it. That's the formula, if we even have a formula."
Dimmu Borgir are definitely getting older — guitarist Galder will be missing Blackest because of a recent addition to his family, and <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/susperia/artist.jhtml">Susperia's</a>Susperia's Cyrus will be filling in for him; while former <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/vader/artist.jhtml">Vader</a>Vader drummer Dariusz Brzozowski takes over for Hellhammer, who had to leave the band in 2007 after sustaining a neck injury that's now limited the use of his right arm. As Dimmu has gotten on in years, Silenoz admits they have failed to keep pace with some of the more extreme black-metal acts that have followed in their wake.
"We helped open doors for the more extreme bands out there," Silenoz said. "I'm sure we helped open doors for bands like Watain, [insomuch as] people that had maybe started listening to us first then went on to the more extreme stuff. Let's face it — we're not as extreme as Watain and other bands like that, but we're fine with that."
The Blackest of the Black Tour continues through November 10 in San Francisco.
The rest of the week's metal news:
Dimmu's tourmates on Blackest, <b>Winds of Plague</b>, have announced ex-<b>Azusa</b> drummer <b>Art Cruz</b> has joined their ranks — he replaced <b>Jeff Tenney</b>. According to the band's blog, "Art has already added a new spark to the band and has provided us with a solid backbone that will allow us to continue our rampage stronger than ever." ...

Behind the Scenes with Adam Lambert...
A few days after releasing the cover art for "Trespassing," the former American Idol favorite is taking fans behind the scenes of his upcoming music video for the first single off that CD, "Better Than I Know Myself."
"Sometimes you screw up or you say something to hurt your partner’s feelings, or you haven’t been supportive," Adam says below. "This song basically owns that, says, ‘Look, I’m sorry. Sometimes I’m not perfect but without you I don’t know what I would do with myself. I need you because you are the only person that knows me better than I know myself."

Otherwise known as the Train wreck of a Honda commercial.
I want to start of by saying I have talked to Shawntel Newton on the phone many times and she is a great girl, very grounded and down-to-earth! Her going back on the show takes balls! She literally jumped right in on the chopping block and I have nothing but respect for her.
What most people don't realize is that lots of ex-Bachelor contestants date after being on the show. They meet at reunions and whatnot. So Shawntel coming back makes total sense because she probably knows Ben [Flajnik] better than most of the girls on this season!
Just a few words to Courtney, the so-called model: What you have yet to understand, honey, is that this show is straight Hollywood and will be over before you can blink your eyes without worrying what you?re doing! So everything that you say and do, you will be judged and everyone seems to hate you for your snotty actions! If I were you, I would realize that this ride you?re on is about to be over and PULL YOURSELF TOGETHER, SERIOUSLY!
As for the rest of the girls on this season, your actions from tonight showed a huge lack of confidence and class on your part. GROW UP! You think Shawntel is going to be the only girl to roll up to Ben and say ?heeeeeyyyyyy cutie!? Get used to it and if you don?t like it then LEAVE. Brittney caught onto the nonsense, pulled the plug and left! I think I speak for everyone who has ever been on this show when I say we applaud you, Brittney. Much love!

Justin Bieber Kicks Off New Year With New Track
By Jocelyn Vena

<P>Justin Bieber isn't new to creating holiday songs using his new-millennium, R&B swagger, as evidenced on his Christmas album, <a href="/news/articles/1671983/justin-bieber-christmas-album-under-the-mistletoe.jhtml"><i>Under The Mistletoe</i></a>. And this weekend, he gave New Year's a try. The singer <a href="https://twitter.com/#!/justinbieber/status/153329259757318145" target="_blank">tweeted</a> a New Year's-themed track, "Happy New Year," which features his pal Jaden Smith rapping.
</p><div class="player-placeholder right" id="vid:702340.id:1672718" width="240" height="211"></div><p>
The slow jam is certainly swaggerfied but also reflective, featuring lyrics that both play up the singer's pop-star image and look ahead to a more hopeful year. "I'm gonna make your cheeks red when I kiss your neck/Girl I'm never leavin' 'cause you are the best baby," he sings. "I wanna give you everything/Never feel 'cause girl you're coming home with me."
In a spoken breakdown, he says, "2012 is the year to be better, stronger and closer to the people around you. So grab someone special, and just, you know."
Smith also shows some bad-boy personality and proves that rapping runs in the Smith DNA. He raps, " 'Cause 2012 is the year of the love/And we gon' start it off/We can get a plane today and get a car toma'/We don't do it small at all/No girl tell me what I gotta to do/I can be the beat that you rockin' to/I can do anything, nothing is impossible, especially with you girl/And I never need a new girl/This love is true girl/Aye welcome to the crew girl."
Not only was Bieber gracing fans with new tracks over the weekend, but he also took the stage during "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve 2012" in Times Square, not far from where his lady love Selena Gomez was <a href="/news/articles/1676633/new-year-selena-gomez-mac-miller.jhtml">hosting "NYE in NYC 2012."</a> The twosome later partied together at Glass House, <a href="http://www.eonline.com/news/marc_malkin/justin_bieber_selena_gomezs_late_night/283450" target="_blank">E! News</a> reports.
A source says, "He...danced with Selena, showing off, picking her up and swinging her around like it was 'Dancing With the Stars.' "
Bieber recently debuted another track<a href="/news/articles/1676443/justin-bieber-be-alright-new-song.jhtml">"Be Alright,"</a> during his holiday special, "Justin Bieber: Home For The Holidays." He's expected to drop his <a href="/news/articles/1675015/justin-bieber-new-album.jhtml">new album, <i>Believe</i></a>, later this year.

Lady Gaga Gushes About Beyonce's Future Motherhood Skills

<P><a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/lady_gaga/artist.jhtml">Lady Gaga</a> and <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/knowles_beyonce/artist.jhtml">Beyoncé</a> are besties, and when the Mother Monster <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C-WTQROqPRk&feature=player_embedded" target="_blank">sat down with "The Insider,"</a> she gushed about her pal's skills as a soon-to-be mommy.
</p><div class="player-placeholder right" id="vid:722067" width="240" height="211"></div><p>
"Of course she is [going to be a good mom]. That's a tremendous understatement," the singer said. "She's the nicest female I've met in the industry. She's wonderful!"
The two have quite the history together. Gaga and Beyoncé have appeared on two tracks (and in two videos) together for "Telephone" and "Video Phone." And while Beyoncé is nearing motherhood, Gaga admits she wants to wait a bit longer before giving birth to anything — but new music, that is.
"Someday. Long, long day from now!" she said. "My next baby will be my new record."
When MTV News caught up with Gaga last month, she opened up about her plans to release the <a href="/news/articles/1675458/lady-gaga-next-album.jhtml">follow-up to <i>Born This Way.</i></a> "I've started writing it and I have the name for it and all the concepts are beginning to flourish and take place," she told MTV News.
But much like Beyoncé and her baby, a due date for the Mother Monster's next album is still to be determined. "I'm excited to put it out, but it's not done yet. So I'll put it out when it's done."
Meanwhile, one <a href="/news/articles/1676772/beyonce-baby.jhtml">psychic who spoke to MTV News</a> helped us try to nail down just when we should expect Jayoncé's baby. "I feel that Beyoncé's 2012 is going to be very, very exciting," Jesse Bravo told MTV News. "I get the date of January 8 to January 14 of her giving birth to her first son."

Beyonce's Baby, Britney's Betrothal And More: 2012 Predictions
By James Montgomery

<P>Welcome to 2012, the year that will either bring us <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012_phenomenon" target="_blank">the end of civilization</a> as we know it or perhaps flying cars (finally!) Of course, between those two events, there's also going to be a presidential election, the London Olympics and that last "Twilight" movie (finally x 100!), not to mention a whole lot of activity within the lives of your favorite stars, too: Babies, weddings, honorary doctorates in nanotechnology; <i>this</i> is the year it'll all happen.
</p><div class="player-placeholder right" id="vid:722495.id:1672369" width="240" height="211"></div><p>
Which is why, with the new year upon us, I've decided to get my <a href="http://www.amazingkreskin.com/" target="_blank">Kreskin</a> on with these predictions for 2012. Don't ask me to gaze deep into my crystal ball and try to foresee who'll win the White House or the World Series, because, seriously, if I knew that, don't you think I'd be wagering right now? Instead, I'm tackling the <i>important</i> topics. Here's my 2012 forecast for the Beyoncés and Britneys of the world ... partly cloudy, with a zero-percent chance of accuracy.
» <a href="/music/artist/knowles_beyonce/artist.jhtml">Beyoncé</a> and <a href="/music/artist/jay_z/artist.jhtml">Jay-Z</a> will welcome a daughter, who, upon her, uh, <i>release,</i> will also release her debut single, "Run the World (Me)."
» <a href="/music/artist/adele/artist.jhtml">Adele</a> will win every single Grammy, including a stunning upset of <i>Eres Un Farsante</i> in the Best Regional Mexican Or Tejano Album category.
» <a href="/music/artist/spears_britney/artist.jhtml">Britney Spears</a> and Jason Trawick will tie the knot in an elaborate, multi-denominational ceremony held — eh, I don't even care enough to finish this one.
» <a href="/music/artist/perry_katy/artist.jhtml">Katy Perry</a>, having finally run out of singles to release off <i>Teenage Dream,</i> will spend the entirety of 2012 shooting videos for objects around her house. Her hits will include "Toaster," "KitchenAid Tilt-Head Stand Mixer" and "This Towel Set Someone Gave Russell and I for Our Wedding That We Keep in the Guest Bathroom."
» <a href="/music/artist/dr_dre/artist.jhtml">Dr. Dre</a> will indefinitely scrap <i>Detox</i> and instead drop a more age-appropriate album called <i>The Chronic Arthritis.</i>
» <a href="/music/artist/lady_gaga/artist.jhtml">Lady Gaga</a> will wear a crazy hat or something.
» <a href="/music/artist/rihanna/artist.jhtml">Rihanna</a> will release six albums in 2012, each more raunchy than the last. Titles include <i>Speculum,</i> <i>[Censored] [Censored] On My [Censored],</i> and <i>Songs About F---ing,</i> which, oddly, will be a note-for-note remake of Big Black's <i>Songs About F---ing.</i>
» Dave Grohl is sure to do something awesome.
» <a href="/music/artist/drake/artist.jhtml">Drake</a>'s sweater game will become so advanced that he will surpass Bill Cosby as the world's foremost expert on multi-hued knitwear. On a related note, he will also release a comedy album called <i>To Russell, My Brother, Whom I Slept With.</i>
» <a href="/music/artist/minaj__nicki/artist.jhtml">Nicki Minaj</a> will stun the fashionistas when she appears at the annual Met Ball wearing a nice pantsuit she bought at Bealls.
» <a href="/music/artist/bieber_justin/artist.jhtml">Justin Bieber</a> will finally get that bike without the training wheels, since he's a big boy now.
» <a href="/music/artist/black_keys/artist.jhtml">The Black Keys</a>, buoyed by the success of their <a href="http://www.mtv.com/videos/the-black-keys/706819/lonely-boy.jhtml">"Lonely Boy" video</a>, will shoot another dance-only clip for "Gold on the Ceiling," this one set at Gallagher's 2000 and featuring nothing but topless women. Surprisingly, it will become the most-viewed music video in the history of everything.
» <a href="/music/artist/lil_wayne/artist.jhtml">Lil Wayne</a> will come full circle, get a tattoo <i>of</i> his face <i>on</i> his face.
» <a href="/music/artist/guns_n_roses/artist.jhtml">Guns N' Roses</a> will reunite at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony in April, only with that dude who plays a guitar shaped like a foot filling in for Slash and Tommy Stinson replacing Duff on bass. So, actually, it won't be Guns N' Roses at all.
» <a href="/music/artist/coldplay/artist.jhtml">Coldplay</a>'s Chris Martin is just going to be fingerpainting everything.
» <a href="/music/artist/ross__rick__rap_/artist.jhtml">Rick Ross</a> will be named the Memphis Restaurant Association's Restaurateur of the Year for his tremendous achievements in <a href="http://newsroom.mtv.com/2011/08/05/rick-ross-wingstop">Wingstop-ery.</a>
» <a href="/music/artist/west_kanye/artist.jhtml">Kanye West</a> will <i>literally</i> explode.
» Fans of <a href="/music/artist/skrillex/artist.jhtml">Skrillex</a> will stop and realize that, in 1997, EDM was poised take over America too, and we ended up with Limp Bizkit as a result.</p>

Daniel Radcliffe's Next Role Is Poet Allen Ginsberg
Daniel Radcliffe
While we are still anxiously awaiting the release of "The Woman in Black," Daniel Radcliffe's first big post-"Harry Potter" film, it's never too early to start thinking about what other projects the young superstar will be considering after "Black" opens.
When MTV News caught up with Radcliffe recently, we asked him to give us some clues as to what we might expect from him in the next year, specifically whether he'd officially signed on to a new film following the release of "Black."
"Closer and getting closer every day, but not anything confirmed yet, unfortunately," Radcliffe said of his 2012 working schedule and several film roles he's considering. "Hopefully I'll definitely have three weeks off in February and then shortly after that, I would hopefully be making a film and it would hopefully be over here," he said of his wishes to continue working Stateside, following his run on Broadway in "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying."
"That would be an entirely new experience for me; I've never filmed in America. I'd really like to do that, with an American crew and have that experience," he said. "I'm hoping to make this year just about film, film, film and then maybe get back onstage maybe in the next two years."
While he was cagey about exactly which films he's considering, one Radcliffe role MTV News can now confirm is poet Allen Ginsberg in the independent film "Kill Your Darlings," which is about how Ginsberg and fellow Beat Generation icons Jack Kerouac and Lucien Carr first met.
"It's one of the things that's on the table absolutely. It would be amazing and I'm very, very enthused for that script and that young director," he said of the John Krokidas-helmed project, which is also set to star Elizabeth Olsen, who recently raved about Radcliffe's talent and her excitement to work with him in "Darlings." "It's an independent film, it's welcome to the world of independent film — from one day to the next it could happen or not happen. Until I'm there on the set, I'm not going to say anything about it."
Would Daniel Radcliffe do well in the role of Allen Ginsberg? Tell us what you think in the comments!

No hay más Led Zeppelin
Photo:
¿Y a ti? ¿Qué te parece todo esto?</p>

Beyonce Mourns Etta James

<P><a href="/news/articles/1677610/etta-james-dead.jhtml">Etta James died</a> on Friday (January 20) at the age of 73 after a lengthy battle with leukemia. The singer is being remembered by <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/knowles_beyonce/artist.jhtml">Beyoncé</a>, who has quite the history with her.
</p><div class="player-placeholder right" id="vid:727109.id:1677649" width="240" height="211"></div><p>
"This is a huge loss. Etta James was one of the greatest vocalists of our time. I am so fortunate to have met such a queen," Beyoncé wrote on her <a href="http://www.beyonceonline.com/us/news/beyoncé-pays-tribute-eternally-great-etta-james" target="_blank">blog</a>. "Her musical contributions will last a lifetime. Playing Etta James taught me so much about myself, and singing her music inspired me to be a stronger artist. When she effortlessly opened her mouth, you could hear her pain and triumph. Her deeply emotional way of delivering a song told her story with no filter. She was fearless, and had guts. She will be missed."

B famously portrayed the blond jazz singer in the 2008 biopic "Cadillac Records." Her version of "At Last" from the film's soundtrack would later win a Grammy for Best Traditional R&B Performance.
Beyoncé's version of James' iconic ballad once-again made headlines when she performed the track at President Obama's inaugural ball in 2009. The performance was initially met with some criticism from the always-outspoken James, but she later came around.
Beyoncé is the latest in a long line of <a href="/news/articles/1677631/etta-james-dead-reactions.jhtml">celebrities paying tribute to James</a>. "Showing respect, appreciation and love for all the wonderful music and joy #ettajames brought to the world...#ettajamesforever," Black Eyed Peas frontman will.i.am wrote on Twitter.
Paramore frontwoman Hayley Williams recalled how James' music influenced her. "#EttaJames, I will be forever grateful for your voice and your soul. Rest in peace."
Rapper <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/flo_rida/artist.jhtml">Flo Rida</a> — whose latest hit, "Good Feeling," samples James' "Something's Got a Hold on Me" — wrote, "I'm deeply saddened by the passing of the Great Etta James and I will be forever grateful for the gift she Blessed me with."
<i>Share your condolences with Etta James' friends and family on our <a href="https://www.facebook.com/mtvnews" target="_blank">Facebook</a> page.</i></p>
