Lady Gaga Ponders Motherhood With Oprah Winfrey
By Jocelyn Vena
<P><a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/lady_gaga/artist.jhtml">Lady Gaga</a> has never come across a topic that she won't open up about. And in a new, candid interview with Oprah Winfrey on her show "<a href="http://www.oprah.com/own-oprahs-next-chapter/Sneak-Preview-Oprah-Interviews-Lady-Gaga-and-Her-Mother-Video" target="_blank">Oprah's Next Chapter</a>," Mother Monster chats about someday actually becoming a mother.
</P><P>
</P><P>"Yes, I want kids, I want a soccer team and I want a husband," she said in the special, which airs Sunday on Winfrey's OWN cable network. "Yeah, I do. Well, you know, I'm being superfluous. I don't want to have one kid. I want to have a few."
</P><P>

</P><P>
</P><P>Gaga, who is currently planning her <a href="/news/articles/1678676/lady-gaga-born-this-way-stage.jhtml"><i>Born This Way</i> world tour</a>, noted that her plan to be a mom won't happen anytime soon. "I want to experience that," she said making a baby bump with her hands and laughing, "[but] not yet."
</P><P>
</P><P>Most of the special was filmed in Gaga's native New York City, but part was also filmed at Harvard University last month. The singer and the talk show host were on hand at the prestigious college to launch Gaga's <a href="/news/articles/1680176/lady-gaga-launches-born-this-way-foundation-harvard.jhtml"><i>Born This Way</i> Foundation</a>.
</P><P>
</P><P>"I just have one thing to say before we get started: We got Oprah! ... Thank you from all of us — from my entire team, from my mother, from the bottom of the hearts of so many people who believe in what we're doing today," Gaga said at the launch. She explained that the foundation seeks to empower the youth of America, adding, "How can we inspire young people to know they have the power to be brave?"</p>

Ludacris Taps Usher For Upcoming Spring Album
By Rob Markman
<P>Are you ready for another <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/ludacris/artist.jhtml">Ludacris</a> album? It's been two years since 'Cris dropped his last album, <i>Battle of the Sexes,</i> and the Atlanta MC estimates that his next one will hit stores this spring.
</P><P>
</P><P>"I get the beats together and I put out my ideas, so I'd say we're maybe about 40 percent done," the rapper told <a href="http://www.billboard.com/column/the-juice/ludacris-eyes-spring-ludaversal-release-1005831952.story#/column/the-juice/ludacris-eyes-spring-ludaversal-release-1005831952.story" target="_blank"><i>Billboard</i></a> of his upcoming eighth LP, <i>Ludaversal,</i> which he anticipates will be out around May with a first single dropping in March.
</P><P>
</P><P>Luda, who dropped his <a href="/news/articles/1674369/ludacris-1.21-gigawatts-mixtape.jhtml"><i>1.21 Gigawatts</i> mixtape</a> in November, also revealed one big-time guest on the LP. "<a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/usher/artist.jhtml">Usher</a> is one person that I've already worked with," he said. "In terms of other artists, you can say that there's going to be a lot of surprises on here."
</P><P>
</P><P><center><embed src="http://media.mtvnservices.com/mgid:uma:video:mtv.com:711235/cp~id%3D1674412%26vid%3D711235%26uri%3Dmgid%3Auma%3Avideo%3Amtv.com%3A711235" width="460" height="260" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" base="."></embed></center>
</P><P>
</P><P>The pair already have a few collaborations under their belt. Who can forget Usher's inescapable smash "Yeah!" from his 2004 <i>Confessions</i> album? The two also hooked up on Lil Jon's "Lovers and Friends" in the same year and then again two years ago on Usher's "She Don't Know." As far as what the two have cooked up for <i>Ludaversal,</i> fans will just have to wait and see.
</P><P>
</P><P>Throughout his career, Luda has shown a ton of versatility. An undeniable hitmaker, at times the nimble-tongued lyricist has been comical (2001's "Area Codes" and 2004's "Number One Spot") and in other instances delivered healthy amounts of substance (2006's "Runaway Love" and 2008's "Do the Right Thing"). For <i>Ludaversal,</i> he will get a little personal.
</P><P>
</P><P>"It's been a minute since I've been away from music, and there is just so much to talk about," he said. "So [the album] is mostly about my personal life, my travels, my experiences, rumors, gossip — you know, everything coming together in one."
</P><P>
</P><P><i>What are your expectations for Ludacris' new album? Tell us in the comments!</i></p>

Is Rambo Coming Back? Sylvester Stallone Is Game
Sylvester Stallone in "Rambo II"
Photo: Michael Ochs Archives/ Getty Images
Any day is a good day to chat with action hero Sylvester Stallone, particularly when the topic of conversation turns from the highly anticipated "Expendables" sequel to the always-anticipated "Rambo" sequels.
The last time we checked in with Stallone about the future of his famed Vietnam vet John Rambo, it seemed as though there might not be any more story to tell and that the hero needed "to stop running" and take a rest.
Thanks to our recent run-in with the main man at CinemaCon, it seems as if Rambo's rest has come to an end and we might see him rise again.
"There's a volcanic eruption [brewing]. The magma of Rambo is coming to the surface," Stallone said when asked about his thoughts on bringing the character back to the big screen.
So is there another story to tell?
"I know there is," he said definitively. "It's one thing where you lay down the final culmination of your life where you can articulate it, but also act on it where he realizes what his destiny really is," Stallone said, speaking for the character and how he might take a moment to reflect on his life and realize his work isn't finished. "It's not to be a farmer, it's not to be obscure; it's to go out in a blaze of glory in a heroic fashion. But is he really doing it for himself or is he doing it because that's just his id? That's who he is.
"I like the whole Mexican situation, what's going on down there," Stallone continued, hinting at the film's possible setting and building the plot around the real-life conflict in Mexico. "So I'm working on a formula for it right now."

Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift: Total BFF Alert!
Earlier this week, the singing superstars took a break from touring and recording to simply hang out like a couple of regular pals. They played guitar, they baked cupcakes and they shared their day with fans on Instagram:
"Because you need a best friend [that] sings beautifully, another best friend to dance with you and another to listen," Gomez wrote along with the photos. "Oh and cupcakes. . .Cupcakes!"
Last year, Selena shared a story with Ryan Seacrest about how Swift showed up at her house with junk food and made her feel better about a big break-up.
"I feel very lucky to have her in my life," Selena said of Taylor.
While she and her famous BFF were chilling, meanwhile, boyfriend Justin Bieber was overseas talking about his penis.
Lana Del Rey 'Compelled' By Britney Spears
By Gil Kaufman
<P>To look at her, you'd think <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/rey_lana_del/artist.jhtml"_blank">Lana Del Rey's</a> inspirations come mostly from 1940s detective movies and sepia-toned Hollywood pinups. But the "Video Games" singer told England's Magic 105.4 that one of her big fashion and music icons is Britney Spears.
</P><P>
</P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Lana Del Rey Says Her Lyrics 'Are Personal'" id="vid:724891.id:1677189" width="240" height="211"></div><p>
</P><P>
</P><P>"I'm not really interested in a ton of female musicians but there is something about Britney that compelled me — the way she sings and just the way she looks," Del Rey said. And even though she's just released her major-label debut under the Del Rey name, she added that she's already kind of over music-making.
</P><P>
</P><P>"The thing that makes me happy now isn't really singing," she said. "Music was once the be-all and end-all, but when you lose everything you have over and over again, it's not so important."
</P><P>
</P><P>It might be a bit early for her to bail on the whole music thing though, since her album, <I>Born to Die</I>, topped the iTunes album charts in 14 countries this week, including the U.S., U.K., Italy, France, Germany, Ireland and Mexico.
</P><P>
</P><P>The chart triumph — and a possible #2 debut next week on the <I>Billboard</i> albums tally — came despite a rash of negative or <a href="/news/articles/1678050/lana-del-rey-album-born-to-die-reviews.jhtml">middling reviews</a>
of the album as well as the continuing fallout from her shaky <a href="/news/articles/1677389/lana-del-rey-snl.jhtml">"Saturday Night Live"</a>
 debut last month.
</P><P>
</P><P>The haterade has gotten her label boss, Interscope's Jimmy Iovine, to chime in on the flack his latest protégé has been taking. "It's a drag," Iovine told <a href="http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/lana-del-rey-backlash-jimmy-iovine-286378" target="_blank"><I>The Hollywood Reporter</I></a>. "Maybe this is a new sport. It's something we've never seen before. Or maybe it's [like] the Giants and the Jets." Del Rey herself told <I>Rolling Stone</I> that she thought she looked "beautiful" and sang "fine" on the show, saying that "that's just the way I perform, and my fans know that."
</P><P>
</P><P>Say what you want about Del Rey's looks, attitude and performance ability, but Iovine said there is one thing you can't mess with.
</P><P>
</P><P>Musically, he thinks <I>Die</I> is "really good. Great lyrics and great songs. I don't care what anybody says, 'Video Games' is a great song. When she sings that song, it moves me. It's how we signed her — she sang and it was beautiful. I think she's really talented. Period."</p>

David Guetta Teases 'Crazy' New Usher Collaboration
By Jocelyn Vena
<P>Still playing "Without You" on repeat? Well, it looks like David Guetta and <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/usher/artist.jhtml">Usher</a> will have a new one for you to play over and over again soon.
</P><P>
</P><P>The French hitmaker teased to <a href="http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/earshot/david-guetta-usher-collaborating-new-song-coachella-315394"_blank"><i>The Hollywood Reporter</i></a> that he's worked with the R&B star on new music. "These are really big records that we're working on right now," he said of the twosome's latest work. "It's really crazy."
</P><P>
</P><P><center><embed src="http://media.mtvnservices.com/mgid:uma:video:mtv.com:713197/cp~vid%3D713197%26uri%3Dmgid%3Auma%3Avideo%3Amtv.com%3A713197" width="460" height="260" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" base="."></embed></center>
</P><P>
</P><P>How crazy? According to Guetta, "really, really, really crazy."
</P><P>
</P><P>While it's unknown when the music will appear, the two recently hit the stage together at Coachella. And Guetta was just as surprised as his audience by the last-minute performance. "I was playing, and then he came to hang out and just to have a good time," he told the <i>Hollywood Reporter.</i> "Then I saw him on the side of the stage and I gave him the sign. He was like, 'Do you want me to do it with you? To come on stage?' and I was like, 'Hell yeah! Of course!'
</P><P>
</P><P>Guetta and Usher found chart success together back in 2011 with <a href="/news/articles/1674782/usher-david-guetta-without-you.jhtml"> "Without You."</a> And the singer explained that it was just the right time and place for it.
</P><P>
</P><P> "I think the world wanted a record like that. That [song] really spoke to the journey that I've actually been on in the last three years," Usher said about that song and how it relates to his musical philosophy. "Traveling all around the world, music sounds different. There's many different genres, and when you see R&B and pop and house, as well as electronic, come together, that's the reality of what music is."
</P><P>
</P><P>Guetta is currently working on new music, and Usher will drop his new album <a href="/news/articles/1682140/usher-looking-for-myself.jhtml"><i>Looking For Myself</i></a> in June.

'Boardwalk Empire' Season Three Teasers: 'New Year, New Rules'
Steve Buscemi in "Boardwalk Empire"
Photo: HBO
Warning: Spoilers ahead for those who haven't watched season two of "Boardwalk Empire."
HBO has started to roll out short previews for the upcoming third season of its Prohibition drama "Boardwalk Empire," and as the first teaser tells us, this is a new year, and there are some new rules.
Suffice it to say, we're dealing with a very different Nucky Thompson.
The second season's finale saw Steve Buscemi's character not so much breaking bad, but finally showing his true colors. Until then, Nucky had been a man who delivered orders and not bullets to the head. The last episode changed everything, however, when Nucky took out his onetime ward, Jimmy Darmody.
In the first of the two new teasers, which feature dialogue from the season premiering this fall but no new footage, we hear Nucky explaining how his plan for the new year has changed. He talks about simplifying things for everyone involved, which we can probably assume means for ruthless business.
The clip closes out with a line that definitely signals that the Nucky we saw in the season two finale is here to stay: "Put a bullet in his f---ing head." It's more direct talk than we're used to hearing from Nucky, but now that we know he is "Not. Seeking. Forgiveness," this kind of talk isn't that surprising.
The second teaser examines what's left of Nucky and Margaret's relationship after her decision to sign the land over to the church.
We figured that things would not be exactly peachy between the couple, but we'll have to wait until "Boardwalk Empire" returns in the fall to see just how bad things get.
Justin Bieber Supergroup? Adam Levine Just 'Messing' Around
By Kara Warner
<P>Those of you familiar with the commotion <a href="/music/artist/bieber_justin/artist.jhtml">Justin Bieber</a> causes no matter where he goes or whatever he says will likely understand the fact that when the "Boyfriend" singer took to Twitter recently to jokingly "announce" a supergroup he's forming with Maroon 5 frontman and "Voice" judge Adam Levine, the Internets took it seriously.
</P><P>
</P><P>"Back in the studio tonight with my new #Supergroup @adamlevine @kennyhamilton," Bieber <a href="https://twitter.com/#!/justinbieber/status/179710758983180290"target="_blank">tweeted</a> back in March and continued to jokingly refer to his musical collaborations with Levine and Ryan Tedder for his upcoming album "Believe" as the start of something truly super.
</P><P>
</P><P><div style="background-color:#000000;width:428px;"><div style="padding:4px;"><iframe src="http://media.mtvnservices.com/mgid:uma:video:mtv.com:762365/cp~vid%3D762365%26instance%3Dmtv%26uri%3Dmgid%3Auma%3Avideo%3Amtv.com%3A762365" width="420" height="236" frameborder="0"></iframe></div></div>
</P><P>
</P><P>Bieber continued with the supergroup references when he <a href="http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1683335/justin-bieber-believe-the-voice.jhtml">appeared on "The Voice" last week</a> and playfully called out Levine for not being fully committed to their "project."
</P><P>
</P><P>"Adam, what's up, man? Hey, I know we didn't really get to do our supergroup thing," he said onstage. "Basically, we were going to do this supergroup, but he released his single, I released my single," Bieber explained to host Carson Daly, to which Adam replied, "I'm sorry I quit, man."
</P><P>
</P><P>MTV News recently caught up with Levine on the set of Maroon 5's new music video for "Payphone," where we asked the frontman to address the supergroup rumblings.
</P><P>
</P><P>"The supergroup thing was a joke and, of course, because it's Justin Bieber, it gets put up on Twitter and is fact," Levine said. "We were just messing with people. It's funny. He's a really good kid, and I think he deserves what he's got. There aren't many people out there who can appreciate that level of success as much as he does. As in the Jewish culture, we say he's a mensch."
</P><P>
</P><P>How we love celeb BFFs. Bieber might have to keep a lid on his budding "bromance" with Levine, however, because fellow "Voice" judge Blake Shelton has already claimed the top bromantic spot, via Twitter, of course.
</P><P>
</P><P>"Me and @adamlevine have a #bromance and @blakeshelton is jealous. Ha," Bieber <a href="https://twitter.com/?tw_e=screenname&tw_i=179485083525320704&tw_p=tweetembed#!/justinbieber/status/192138921600229376" target="_blank">tweeted</a> before his appearance on "The Voice" last week.
</P><P>
</P><P>"Jealous?!! You wish!! He's mine!!" Shelton immediately <a href="https://twitter.com/?tw_e=screenname&tw_i=179485083525320704&tw_p=tweetembed#!/blakeshelton/status/192140828192419840" target="_blank">shot back</a> in reply.

</P><P>Well, after taking a second to get his tips together, Selena Gomez's beau had timeless advice for any clueless fellas out there: "I think being honest and patient, because girls can be tough sometimes, so you just got to be patient. "I'm just trying to make [Selena] happy, that's all," he shared. "I think it's important to make all women feel like they're princesses, because every girl is a princess. I'm serious."

It turns out voicing Audrey in "The Lorax" and playing a shallow, high school cheerleader in "Valentine's Day" were just the opening roles in Taylor Swift's budding acting career. The Grammy-winning artist is linked to the role of Joni Mitchell in the film adaptation of Sheila Weller's book "Girls Like Us," Variety reports.
The biography maps the lives of three of the most influential female musicians in America: Carole King, Carly Simon and Joni Mitchell. In an attempt to capture the life of women in the 1970s, Weller tells these artists' three unique stories. King is the daughter of a middle-class New York family, living in one of the city's outer boroughs. Simon is the product of Manhattan's intellectual elite. Mitchell's grandparents were Canadian farmers.
When MTV News spoke to Swift in March, she told us acting has always "fascinated" her. The role of Mitchell sounds like a part she would want to take on.
"I love the idea that you can tell a story in that way," the singer gushed. "I've been reading scripts for about five years. In my free time, that's all I do is read scripts."
But she isn't in a rush to choose just any role. "I just want to make decisions really carefully. I think, with movies, it's really important that you have to love something so much that you cannot think about anything else," she continued. "If you're going to become someone else, that's a huge deal. That's a huge commitment, and I would want to have the time and the ability and the love for something and the love for a character to where I could really make that commitment to it."
Swift would certainly have some of the background knowledge it takes to play Mitchell, being a musician herself. While Sony Pictures has not made Swift an official offer, other actresses have already auditioned — including Alison Pill ("Midnight in Paris") — for the role of King. Variety also reported that Katie Jacobs, executive producer of "House," is directing the script penned by John Sayles, and Lorenzo di Bonaventura is set to produce. The biopic is still waiting to be green-lit, but the tentative start of production is later this year.

Justin Bieber And Taylor Swift's Duet Sounds 'Beautiful,' Selena Gomez Says
By Jocelyn Vena
<P><P>Wondering what the highly anticipated <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/bieber_justin/artist.jhtml">Justin Bieber</a> track featuring <a href="/news/articles/1683050/justin-bieber-taylor-swift-collaboration.jhtml">Taylor Swift</a> might sound like? Well, Bieber's girlfriend, <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/gomez__selena/artist.jhtml">Selena Gomez</a>, has heard it and she gives it two thumbs up.
</P><P>
</P><P>"It's beautiful," she told <a href="http://www.eonline.com/news/marc_malkin/selena_gomez_boyfriend_justin_bieber/310269#ixzz1saEUoQmT" target="_blank">E! News</a> about the collaboration for Bieber's June release, <i>Believe.</i> "I don't know if it's going to make it on the record, but it is beautiful."
</P><P>
</P><P>Whether or not it makes the cut, Swift is only one of many artists — including Maroon 5 lead singer Adam Levine and Bieber's pals Kanye West and Drake — who have hit the studio with the Biebs. As for working together, neither Selena nor Justin have mentioned a duet for his album.

</P><P>"You know, the whole album is just so different, there's so many different people collaborating," he recently explained about the album. "It's crazy. I mean I even wrote a song with Taylor Swift, so the whole album ranges differently. With my music, it doesn't only stay in a box. It's so out there. Everything is so different and that's why I'm so happy with this album."
</P><P>Bieber will drop <a href="/news/articles/1683335/justin-bieber-believe-the-voice.jhtml"><i>Believe</i> on June 19</a>. Before then, fans are eagerly awaiting the release of his <a href="/news/articles/1683042/justin-bieber-boyfriend-buzz-lightyear.jhtml">"Boyfriend" music video</a>, for which he has released several teases over the last few weeks.
</P><P>
</P><P>"The concept of this video, I mean, it's not like a steady concept," he explained to MTV News about the <a href="/news/articles/1682156/justin-bieber-explains-boyfriend-video.jhtml">Colin Tilley-directed clip</a>. "It's not like 'Justin follows this girl to this spot.' No, it's a bunch of amazing scenes: Like a fire scene, we have an ice scene.
</P><P>"It's kind of like bouncing back and forth," he said. "And then there's scenes of me and just a bunch of girl dancers, and just some great shots, great artistic shots, great shots of me smiling. It's fun."

La La Anthony's Dating Advice: Think Like A Man!
"I think that it's excellent advice," La La said at The X-Rated Fusion Liqueur advance screening. "And you just take bits and pieces that kind of work for you. That's what I've done in my relationship and that's what I think people should do from reading the book and watching the movie."
The film centers around four dating couples, all of whom have their own obstacles to overcome. What the book, and in turn, the movie hopes to highlight is that women would be better served to try and think from a man's perspective, a sentiment La La echoes. "I think, in a way, what it means is women just tend to be super-emotional," La La said. "Where guys at times know how to take that emotion out. And I think women sometimes get too caught up in the feelings of things, that you stop thinking logically."
Think Like A Man opens April 20 and stars Kevin Hart and Gabrielle Union.

Exclusive 'Battleship' Clip: Taylor Kitsch Gets Flirty With Brooklyn Decker
Taylor Kitsch in "Battleship"
Photo: Universal Pictures
"Fire all the weapons!" Liam Neeson yells in the first "Battleship" trailer, a command dutifully followed by a young naval officer in the film but one that failed to trigger the dude-I-gotta-see-this-movie jones of many moviegoers.
But we had a feeling a lot of folks were missing the point of both the popcorn flick's whiz-bang alien-vs.-soldier brawling and the sun-dappled human-on-human seduction giving "Battleship" its warm, gooey center. The film is perfectly constructed to fill the "Transformers"-sized hole in the summer movie calendar. Audiences overseas are already responding, shelling out $58 million to check it out since the April 11 foreign release. Our turn comes on May 18.
Before then, and having seen the CGI-heavy theatrics in "Battleship" trailers, it's time to take a look at the film's softer side. That's where MTV News' Summer Movie Preview comes into play, delivering an exclusive clip featuring Taylor Kitsch and his bodacious birthday wish, Brooklyn Decker.
The scene in the clip comes early in the film, with Kitsch's unemployed slacker, Alex Hopper, sharing a sad-sack birthday party in a dingy bar with his brother, Stone (Alexander Skarsgård). Then Brooklyn Decker's Samantha arrives, seeking a chicken burrito but not necessarily the attention of unemployed slackers. When unemployed slackers look like Taylor Kitsch, though, you can be pretty sure romance is going to bloom — until those pesky aliens arrive and put a damper on the relationship of two of the prettiest people on this, or any, planet.
Let's not keep Skarsgård out of the beauty contest. That's partly how he got the job. Director Peter Berg recently told MTV News that while he loved the actor's work as a vampire in "True Blood," it wasn't his résumé that won him the gig.
"All the girls in the office stormed into my office and demanded that we cast him," Berg said. "And then when I met him, my son was there, and [Alex] got out of his Audi R8 — that's my son's dream car.
My son just stood there with his jaw open, staring first at him, then at his car, and he said, 'Dad, it's non-negotiable. Alex is in the movie.' "
Skarsgård's "Battleship" itch was a tad more substantive. "I was working on 'Melancholia' right before this, which is a Lars von Trier, European art-house movie. So I was excited about the combination of doing those two back-to-back," he explained to us. "But then it was also the fact that Pete is an actor and he knows actors and he cares about the characters. ... [He] talked more about the characters and the relationships than how amazing the explosions would look."
That perfectly explains the importance of our exclusive clip. "The movie is really the story of a younger brother trying to grow up and be a man like [his older brother]," Berg said. "There just happens to be an alien invasion in the middle of it."
It's Summer Movie Preview Week, and MTV News will be bringing you exclusive interviews, clips and photos for the most anticipated summer movies. Get ready to gorge on inside looks at "The Avengers," Robert Pattinson's "Bel Ami," Kristen Stewart's "Snow White," "The Amazing Spider-Man" and more!
Check out everything we've got on "Battleship."

Justin Bieber Reveals Believe Release Date On 'The Voice'
Justin Bieber on "The Voice"

If you tuned into Tuesday night's (April 17) episode of "The Voice," then you caught a roller-coaster episode, with Justin Bieber teasing his "Boyfriend" video and announcing that his new album, Believe, will hit stores June 19 and two more competitors biting the dust.
Rocking a simple jacket, jeans and gold pendent, a charismatic Bieber was welcomed to the "Voice" stage with overwhelming applause. "I'm really happy to be here, and I think you guys are going to really love the video," he told host Carson Daly of the "Boyfriend" sneak peek.
In the clip, Bieber is seen whispering the slick tune to a girl as shots of an icy realm flash. With a guitar in hand, the singer strikes a pose before a gleaming white sphere. Beliebers will see the first live performance of the track when he hits the "Voice" stage during the season finale.
Bieber also took time to jokingly chat with judge Adam Levine about a "supergroup" the two were planning, telling Daly, "Basically, we were going to do this supergroup, but he released his single, I released my single," to which Adam replied, "I'm sorry I quit, man."
Beyond the Biebs' announcement, the NBC series also had some unfortunate news to share, revealing the two contestants who were given the boot from the singing competition.
Following the previous night's "instant eliminations," Daly explained that the highest vote-getters would advance to the semifinals, with the remaining set of duos battling it out for their judge's save. And it was nothing but a relief for Chris Mann (Team Christina) and Jermaine Paul (Team Blake) when they were revealed as the highest voted of the week.
Shortly after the commercial break, Team Christina's Ashley De La Rosa and Lindsey Pavao went head-to-head, causing Miss Aguilera to shed some tears. While De La Rosa took on Lady Gaga's "Yoü and I," it was Pavao's magic that turned Mike Posner's "Please Don't Go" into a soothing slow jam and advanced her to the next round. Afterward, Erin Willett and RaeLynn were the remaining duo left to duke it out on Team Blake. RaeLynn tried to do her best with the Band Perry's "If I Die Young," but ultimately Blake favored Willett's energetic take on Ike and Tina Turner's "Proud Mary."
If JB didn't make the females in the audience swoon enough, boy-band phenomenon the Wanted riled up the rest of the gals as they performed their new single "Chasing the Sun." Unleashing a crew of dancers, the five-member act also shared the stage with Team Blake. Despite being barely audible while singing the hook, the trio at least looked excited to be performing during the high-energy number.
