'Hip Hop Squares': New Game Show Coming To MTV2!
Photo: MTV2
Hip-hop is going Hollywood — or is it the other way around? On May 22, MTV2 will premiere "Hip Hop Squares", a fresh new take on the iconic tic-tac-toe game show "Hollywood Squares."
Nick Cannon, DJ Khaled, Fat Joe, Mac Miller and Machine Gun Kelly will be featured as contestants. "Jackass" crewmember Bam Margera, Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker LaMarr Woodley and Wu-Tang's Ghostface Killah also will appear on the show, hosted by New York radio DJ Peter Rosenberg.
" 'Hip Hop Squares' is a great representation of MTV2's new brand filter to deliver smart, funny and relevant content that speaks directly to male Millennials, or 'Malennials,' as we call them," said Paul Ricci, head of programming for MTV2. "The show will refresh an iconic format and create a fun, dynamic series that's unpredictable, heavy on personality and much more 'party' than 'game show.' "
If the new incarnation of "Squares" stays true to the original, two contestants (one representing "X," and the other representing "O") will compete for prizes in a trivia-styled game where the show's stars are situated on a giant tic-tac-toe board.
The contestants strategically select which square they wish to capture and ask the star seated there a trivia question. After the question is answered, the contestant can choose whether to agree or disagree. If the contestant is right, they capture the square; if he or she is wrong, their opponent wins the square. The first contestant to line up three squares in a row wins the game.
"They cross the spectrum from musicians and celebrities to athletes and casual fans of hip-hop," Paul Ricci, MTV2′s programming chief said. "The show will refresh an iconic format and create a fun, dynamic series that's unpredictable, heavy on personality and much more 'party' than 'game show'."
Sounds like a ball.
Tune into the premiere of "Hip Hop Squares" at 11 p.m. ET/PT on Tuesday, May 22, on MTV2!

Snow White Puts Up A Fight In 'Mirror Mirror'
Lily Collins
Photo: MTV News
If you're looking for a fun, fantastical, family-friendly movie to see this weekend, Tarsem's "Mirror Mirror" has you covered. The visually appealing and star-studded film is a new spin on an old classic, featuring an exuberant "man child" of a prince played by Armie Hammer, Oscar winner Julia Roberts as an unhealthily vain Evil Queen and Lily Collins as a more independent and self-assured Snow White.
When MTV News caught up with Roberts and Collins recently, we asked them to explain how their characters differ from the familiar fairy-tale mold.
"I think she's deeply misunderstood," Roberts said of her Evil Queen. "And I think she is correct in her ambition and drive and desire and focus to annihilate Snow White. And I don't think there's anything wrong with that. She's clear," she joked. "She's exacting."
Collins explained that her Snow White is not your typical damsel in distress. "She really becomes a fighter, emotionally and physically, and turns into this young woman who found out that she can save a prince as much as a prince can save her," she said. "She really becomes this fighter, and I got to swordfight and fence and wrestle and do all these cool things that you don't normally associate with a princess."
Speaking of fighters and swordfights, we couldn't help but ask for the castmembers' opinions on the fact that another Snow White-centric film, "Snow White and the Huntsman," will be hot on the heels of "Mirror Mirror" when it opens June 1 and how it might fare against their film.
"I'm interested to see what they did," Hammer admitted. "I think what we did is make a movie that's family-friendly. The parents are going to go to it and enjoy it almost as much as the kids are. Plus our movie kicks that movie's ass, let's be honest," he added with a grin. "Yeah. And we're out first. And we're gonna kick their ass!" he joked, clearly not concerned with competing against "Huntsman." "We're gonna make so much more money than they are! Our Rotten Tomatoes score is gonna be so much higher."

Usher, Lil Wayne Mark Justin Bieber's Birthday
By Rob Markman
<P>When it's your 18th birthday, you'll probably get well wishes from mom, dad, and, if you're lucky, your teenage crush. But when you're <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/bieber_justin/artist.jhtml">Justin Bieber</a>, you get shouts from Usher, Lil Wayne and Sean Kingston. Be jealous!
</P><P>
</P><P>On Thursday (March 1), the Biebs turned 18 years old, and his most famous friends hooked up with MTV News to celebrate <a href="/news/articles/1680191/justin-bieber-birthday-fan-questions.jhtml">Bieber's birthday</a>. "I hope that you are around all of your loved ones and having a good time. This is from big bro, from the heart," Usher said in a video piece compiled by MTV News for the Biebs.
</P><P>
</P><P><div style="background-color:#000000;width:428px;"><div style="padding:4px;"><iframe src="http://media.mtvnservices.com/mgid:uma:video:mtv.com:744682/cp~id%3D1680192%26vid%3D744682%26instance%3Dmtv%26uri%3Dmgid%3Auma%3Avideo%3Amtv.com%3A744682" width="420" height="236" frameborder="0"></iframe></div></div>
</P><P>
</P><P>The <i>Confessions</i> singer initially signed Justin along with his manager Scooter Braun, and he has since become a mentor to the pop star. So of course the 33-year-old Usher had to impart some b-day wisdom on his young homey. "Eighteen will give you an opportunity to do a little bit, not all, so we got a few more years before you can go all the way," he said, acknowledging the three years until JB turns 21 and is allowed to legally drink in the U.S. "Maybe I might even be able to sneak you into a club. Anyway dawg, happy birthday. I love you."
</P><P>
</P><P>Comedian Kevin Hart isn't buying all of Justin's birthday hype, though. "Whatever Justin Bieber is supposed to be doing at 18, he was doing at 15," he joked after sending his well wish.
</P><P>
</P><P>Platinum hitmakers RedFoo, B.o.B, Sean Kingston and Flo Rida all helped MTV News celebrate the occasion. Even <a href="/news/articles/1678337/justin-bieber-lil-wayne-studio-visit.jhtml">Lil Wayne, who was with Bieber</a> in the studio in February, sent a special message. "Happy Birthday, slime, the big one-eight. You in the club, slime," Weezy said, standing beside Young Money's Lil Chuckee.
</P><P>
</P><P>As far as birthday presents go, it's anybody's guess what his buddies will actually get Bieber. But Robin Thicke bypassed tradition and instead hit up the "Never Say Never" singer for a loan. "Send me some money, Justin. You got way too much," he said, laughing.
</P><P>
</P><P>But what do you get the young man who has everything? Sometimes all it takes is a few kind words. "Thank you to all the people that made the video," Bieber told MTV News. "It really brought a smile to my face."

Kate Winslet Says Her Acting 'Could've Been Better' In 'Titanic'
Kate Winslet at the "Titanic 3D" premiere
Photo: Getty Images
Kate Winslet has had a rough journey with "Titanic" premieres in the past. She missed the 1997 world premiere at Mann's Chinese Theatre when her ex-boyfriend, Stephen Tredre, tragically died of cancer. During the U.K. premiere, she was in the hospital suffering from dysentery she contracted in Morocco while filming "Hideous Kinky."
But as "Titanic" sets sail again 15 years later in 3-D, Winslet finally made a long overdue red-carpet appearance at the London premiere on Tuesday. MTV News caught up with the Academy Award-winning actress to find out how it feels to see the movie again in a new dimension.
"It feels amazing," Winslet said. "I mean, it is a very strange experience because it's a long time since I've seen the film in its entirety."
In 1997, the retelling of the ship's disaster dominated the box office, raking in more than $600 million. The film stands strong as the second-highest-grossing box-office hit in the United States. But Winslet isn't worried about moviegoers and fans passing up the opportunity to see it in theaters again. While she says it looks different, she also believes it's much bigger, in a way. "It looks very different. I mean, it's still as wonderful and as epic as it always was. But it does feel bigger, you know, bigger somehow even than it did then, so it's very exciting," she said.
Having seen Rose again on the big screen, Winslet is critical of herself in the role, suggesting that there are things she would change if she could play the part all over again. "My American accent could've been much better. My acting could've been a lot better," she said. Her Oscar nomination for the role says otherwise.
And as far as seeing herself in 3-D, she's happier with the way she looks now. "I think I look nicer now," she said. "I prefer myself as a 36-year-old. It's really weird 'cause when you're 21 you think, 'Oh God, when I'm 36, oh God, that's nearly 40 and I'll look really old and wrinkly by then.' And actually I quite like the way I look. I feel OK about myself these days."
Audiences will be able to relive the story as the 3-D version of "Titanic" hits theaters on April 4.

'Hunger Games' Ignites Box Office: Experts Weigh In
Wes Bentley as Seneca Crane in "The Hunger Games"

We all knew "The Hunger Games" would debut to enormous opening-weekend numbers, but few could have predicted just how quickly the fire would spread.
The YA adaptation opened to an incredible $155 million weekend, passing up "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" and "Spider-Man 3" to have the third-highest opening weekend behind "The Dark Knight" and "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2."
Early predictions had "The Hunger Games" opening at a respectable $70 million, not even half the actual total and in range of this year's "The Lorax," another recent box-office surprise. As the release drew nearer, analysts bumped up the predicted total to a range of $125 million to $130 million. The reason for the initially low prediction lies with another YA series, according to Jeff Bock of Exhibitor Relations.
"Many people were comparing this to the original 'Twilight' film, which grossed $69 million its opening weekend," Bock said. "Even though the book series was a huge success, many other young adult novels have been translated to film recently and failed to produce the next 'Harry Potter' or 'Twilight,' so, as an unproven commodity, expectations were tempered a bit with 'The Hunger Games.' Even Lionsgate was estimating that the film would debut with a three-day weekend gross of $75 million earlier in the week; they certainly didn't expect it to nearly eclipse that number on opening day."

The strong push out of the gate came from a combination of an aggressive marketing campaign by Lionsgate and groundswell created by fans of Suzanne Collins' best-selling books. Gitesh Pandya of Box Office Guru said it was a precise combination of those key factors that led to such an explosive opening weekend.
"The record opening was driven by the loyal fanbase, which is humongous, along with a carefully crafted marketing push that intrigued them and also drew in new audiences in time for the movie's release," Pandya said. "Marketing was a key component to the massive debut, as the film wasn't over-promoted to the point of repelling people. Lionsgate turned the opening weekend of 'Hunger Games' into the hottest party around and nobody wanted to be left out."
Lionsgate is certainly not wasting any time in trying to repeat the magic of their biggest hit to date. Production on the sequel, "Catching Fire," is scheduled to begin this summer with a release tentatively set for November 2013. Pandya believes the next adventure of Katniss Everdeen could even go bigger.
"Studios knew to stay out of the way of 'Hunger Games,' which is why no other film opened wide this weekend. But now they know how big of a juggernaut it is, and if history is any indicator, the opening of 'Catching Fire' will be even bigger in November 2013," Pandya said. "And unless Disney changes its superhero date, we're going to see a big-brother battle as Liam Hemsworth's 'Catching Fire' will open just one week after Chris Hemsworth's 'Thor 2.' "

Dennis Rodman: Broke, Facing Jail Stint Over Failed Child Support
An Orange County court commissioner told the Hall of Famer yesterday that he will be held in contempt - and face 20 days in prison - over the $860,376 in child/spousal support he owes his ex-wife.
Rodman has until May 29 to come up with the money, but it could be a problem says his financial advisor, Peggy Williams. She claims her client is broke.
"In all honesty, Dennis, although a very sweet person, is an alcoholic," Williams tells The Los Angeles Times of Rodman. "His sickness impacts his ability to get work."
Rodman is a multiple-time champion and All-Star and one of the best defenders in NBA history. His colorful life off the court has included a marriage to Carmen Electra; time spent as Madonna's boyfriend; and a resume that includes donning a wedding dress to a book signing, along with coaching a topless women's team.
Police have reportedly been called to his Newport Beach home 80 times over the years to deal with loud, over-the-top parties.
Referring to Rodman's split from his third wife, Michelle, Williams says the athlete has been on a "binge [like] I have never seen before."
In court yesterday, Rodman characterized his relationship with Michelle as friendly, saying "it's never been a hate thing" and even made lunch plans with his ex when the session broke. We're guessing she picked up the tab.

Is Britney Spears Getting Closer To 'X Factor' Gig?

<P>There are several women's names currently being tossed around as potential judges for the upcoming season of "X Factor." Avril Lavigne, <a href="/news/articles/1679730/x-factor-new-judges-hosts.jhtml">Janet Jackson and Britney Spears</a> are the leading rumored contenders to replace <a href="/news/articles/1678191/paula-abdul-exits-x-factor.jhtml">Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul</a> for the show's completely revamped second season, which kicks off later this year.

</P><P>
</P><P>"You can probably count on two girls," fellow judge L.A. Reid added. "That we can confirm."
</P><P>
</P><P>Cowell recently addressed the Britney buzz on Billy Bush's <a href="http://www.accesshollywood.com/billy-bush/simon-cowell-x-factor-would-be-a-walk-in-the-park-for-britney-spears_articletab_61327" target="_blank">radio show</a>, continuing to play coy about the chatter. "Well, I'm fascinated by her. The fact that she's still one of the most talked-about — not just pop stars, but people — in the world today means that you've got this star power. This girl's got resilience, and the fact that she's survived this and she's still hot, she's still having hit records and she's still controversial ... there's a reason for that.
</P><P>
</P><P>"I would think that if she's managed to sustain a family, a career, which is tough, this is a walk in the park," he added, noting that he believes she would be a good judge.

</P><P>While Cowell seems to be dancing around the issue, British "X Factor" judge Louis Walsh may have let the cat out of the bag in an <a href="http://www.breatheheavy.com/2012/02/uk-x-factor-judge-confirms-talks-with-britney/?utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=twitterfeed" target="_blank">interview</a> on U.K. talk show "Craig Doyle Live." </P><P>"I know he is talking to Britney. I know he's definitely talking to Britney to do the American show. Absolutely true and maybe Janet Jackson," he said.

</P><P>In the end, Cowell summed up the current spate of rumors on that conference call. "There's a load of speculation, some true, some not true. It's true to say that a lot more people have entered the frame this year. We were waiting to see who was going to contact us before we actually contacted people," he said last week. "We're in that place right now, which is a good place to be in. We will meet a number of people over the next few weeks, mainly to explain to them that this is a big commitment when you do a show like this because of the mentoring aspect."</p>

Will 'Hunger Games' Land Jennifer Lawrence On A-List?
Jennifer Lawrence
Photo: Getty Images
Earning $19.8 million at midnight screenings and predictions of a $125 million weekend for "The Hunger Games" have essentially secured a future for the franchise, so now one of the more interesting questions coming out of the opening is: What does this mean for Jennifer Lawrence?
As the star of "The Hunger Games," Lawrence will inevitably be one of the people given credit for its huge success and, from there, move into the realm of "bankable" actresses. While headlining a huge blockbuster certainly helps bolster an actress' career prospects and offers for future projects, it will be Lawrence's incredible performance as Katniss Everdeen that secures her new status as a Hollywood A-lister and bona fide star.
With the now-guaranteed success of "The Hunger Games" under her belt, Lawrence's next project choices are going to be the ones that decide what kind of star she is, according to David Poland of Movie City News.
"She is going to be on top of the celebrity charts for a few years now, but it's easy to piss that away with a few bad choices," he said. "My sense is that she wants to be stimulated and not just take the money and run. So she could end up getting dozens of low-budget, high-quality films made or do 'one for them, one for me' or try to be the first Bond villainess. Doors are open. But she's young, and her identity is still forming."
Beginning that identity formation with "The Hunger Games" is a pretty solid start. Who didn't get goose bumps during the trailer when Lawrence broke away from the crowd at the Reaping to volunteer herself for the Games? "I volunteer! I volunteer as tribute." It's an incredibly memorable moment, and its resonance stems directly from how emotionally believable Lawrence is. For as contentious as her casting was, Lawrence silenced critics with two sentences.
At its core, "The Hunger Games" is a crowd-pleaser. It follows a strong female character, is full of action and arguably ends with the best possible outcome. There's a reason so many people of different demographics love it. As the hero of the story, Lawrence automatically becomes the person people associate the quality of the film with, and there's a good reason for that.
It's important to remember that when we're talking about Jennifer Lawrence, we're talking about "Academy Award nominee Jennifer Lawrence," an honor she earned for a brutal role in "Winter's Bone."
There was never a question that Lawrence could act, and in the actual film of "The Hunger Games," she grounds a fantastical premise with a relatable and deeply realistic performance that goes beyond the usual requirements of a tentpole movie. Even though we're barely three months into 2012, based solely on the quality of her performance, Oscar consideration for Lawrence isn't entirely out of the question: She's that good.
With "The Hunger Games," Jennifer Lawrence has left behind the realm of "indie cred" and has entered rarified air: a highly bankable, capital A actor.

</P><P>
</P><P>While Cowell seems to be dancing around the issue, British "X Factor" judge Louis Walsh may have let the cat out of the bag in an <a href="http://www.breatheheavy.com/2012/02/uk-x-factor-judge-confirms-talks-with-britney/?utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=twitterfeed" target="_blank">interview</a> on U.K. talk show "Craig Doyle Live." He shared that Spears was indeed talking to producers about possibly joining the show.
</P><P>
</P><P>"I know he is talking to Britney. I know he's definitely talking to Britney to do the American show. Absolutely true and maybe Janet Jackson," he said.
</P><P>
</P><P>In the end, Cowell summed up the current spate of rumors on that conference call. "There's a load of speculation, some true, some not true. It's true to say that a lot more people have entered the frame this year. We were waiting to see who was going to contact us before we actually contacted people," he said last week. "We're in that place right now, which is a good place to be in. We will meet a number of people over the next few weeks, mainly to explain to them that this is a big commitment when you do a show like this because of the mentoring aspect."</p>

Donald Trump Jr. Doesn't Share The Same Political Views As His Father
In a recent interview with Ben Harvey and Dave Rubin's The Six Pack radio show on Sirius XM, the 34-year-old revealed that he is pro gay marriage unlike his famous dad. "I'm totally for it. One of my best friends growing up was gay... it's never been an issue for me," he said.
The father of three young children jokingly even shared, "I think there was a time in my life, probably in college, that I wished every guy was gay because it meant more woman for me... That's always the way I thought about it.... If I have to suffer through marriage, why shouldn't they?"
Contrary to his beliefs, his uber-successful father shared last year on on Greta Van Susteren?s Fox News program: "I?m just not in favor of gay marriage." Perhaps the term, "like father, like son," does not always apply.

'Hunger Games' Star Liam Hemsworth Is 'Team Haymitch'

As painful as it has been for us "Hunger Games" fans to wait for the film's release, imagine how anxious the stars themselves have been to see it.
We've heard how Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson reacted to seeing the finished film for the first time, and now it's time to hear what co-star Liam Hemsworth had to say after his first viewing.
"It was amazing just to see all the different actors and what they've done with it," Hemsworth told MTV News recently. "Woody Harrelson is one of my favorite actors, and I was really, really excited to see Haymitch come to life. He's awesome. I'm Team Haymitch all the way; I think he's amazing.
"The movie is intense from beginning to end, and it's powerful," Hemsworth added about the finished product. "You have this girl who gives so much hope and courage to everyone, and Jennifer is the perfect person to play it. She pulled it off perfect."
After joking with the Aussie actor about how his brother, "Thor" star Chris Hemsworth, helped him prepare for the initial audition, we asked Liam how he approached his character knowing that, while he doesn't have a lot of screen time, his role in Katniss' life is vital.
"It does add a little pressure. It's always harder when you're coming in for smaller amounts and you have to convey everything that needs to be conveyed in small moments, but the writing was that good that it wasn't hard," Hemsworth said of maximizing his screen time. "The director was that good and Jennifer was amazing, so it was all kind of already there."

'Dark Knight Rises' Is Real ... And Bound For Comic-Con?
Christian Bale on the set of "The Dark Knight Rises"

Batman fans received what will probably be the most important news of the pre-release for "The Dark Knight Rises": The film actually exists.
As we reported, Christopher Nolan screened a rough cut of his final Batman movie for Warner Bros. brass last week, and the legion of fans breathed a collective sigh of relief. We now know that a completed version of the film is real, and it's not just a trailer we've watched obsessively since ... December?
Yup, it's been three months since we've seen any new footage from the most anticipated movie of 2012, and we've felt every Batman-less minute of it. You go three months with nothing more than a squeak from the new Nolan Batman movie, and you start to think some paranoid thoughts. Is the movie ever coming out? Is the movie even real? But worry not, borderline psychotic Gothamite: "The Dark Knight Rises" is real and edging toward the picture-locked goal line. There's no official word on the reaction to the rough-cut screening, as of yet.
Thankfully, the news of the rough cut closely preceded the leak of a new plot synopsis, taken from the plaque of a film cell that will eventually go on sale over at Film Cells Ltd. The cell shows Batman, Bane and Commissioner Gordon with the caption: "When Commissioner Gordon stumbles upon a plot to destroy the city from within, Bruce Wayne gets back into action as the Batman. Waiting for him is the mysterious Selina Kyle and Bane, a lethal adversary on a crusade to tear apart Batman's legacy piece by piece."
Granted, the "synopsis" amounts to "Hey, Batman, Bane and Commissioner Gordon are all going to be in the same movie. Can't really talk about it," but we can't really complain about new information at this point.
In the realm of Batman rumors that could possibly affect you — wait, let me clarify. This rumor might affect you if you were lucky enough to snag passes to San Diego Comic-Con before they sold out in 6.5 seconds. There's a chance Nolan could appear at San Diego Comic-Con this year. It would be the first time ever for the director, since his previous two Batman movies debuted before the convention. This time around, Batman will rise the week after SDCC, so speculation has already begun that Nolan could make his final bow at the geekiest of all gatherings.
If you start to consider that, the nerdy possibilities are endless. What will the panel include? Who from the cast will show up? Are we talking about an actual screening here? Can I go? Why can't I go? Please let me go!
Listen, I'm all for going into a highly anticipated movie not knowing much, and I'm glad that my spoiler levels for "Rises" have been kept to a generous low. But there should be a little more out there to tease us. In the race of the summer tentpoles, "The Dark Knight Rises" is resting on its laurels while "Prometheus" and "The Avengers" are dropping kick-ass trailers like they were nothing. It's getting to the point where Warner Bros. might need to start considering that slapping "Christopher Nolan" and "Batman" on a theater marquee might not be enough to win the summer.
And when you do finally cut a second theatrical trailer, Warner Bros., please spare us the 10-second trailer of the trailer. Those are just terrible.
[Ed. Note: A previous mention of a "four-hour rough cut" of "The Dark Knight Rises" was intended as a humorous exaggeration; our columnist did not have any information on the actual length of the director's rough cut.]

WonderCon Preview: Aliens And Spiders And Zombies, Oh My!

Although summer blockbuster season is still a few months away, the lucky fans making the trek to WonderCon this weekend in Anaheim, California, will be getting a very special sneak preview of a few of the summer's most-anticipated films.
The annual comic book, sci-fi and fantasy fest kicked off Friday (March 16) and continues through the weekend with an action-packed schedule of events that include panel discussions, artist meet-and-greets, costume competitions and, of course, movie previews. MTV News will be making the trek down to the Con for a full day of preview presentations and interviews with some very special guests. Here's a quick preview of what to expect from the studios and films scheduled to appear at the Anaheim Convention Center on Saturday:
20th Century Fox: "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" and "Prometheus"
Fox will debut exclusive new footage and the stars and filmmakers from two of the most buzzed-about films this year at the Con. "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" is the tale of one of America's most beloved historical figures reinvented as a vampire-killer, and star Benjamin Walker, director Timur Bekmambetov and writer Seth Grahame-Smith will be on hand to discuss it. "Prometheus" marks the highly anticipated return of director Ridley Scott to his "Aliens" origins, although the extent of which we are unsure because the film is shrouded in secrecy. Sir Scott will be joined by screenwriter Damon Lindelof and stars Michael Fassbender and Charlize Theron.
Universal: "Snow White and the Huntsman" and "Battleship"
First-time feature director Rupert Sanders will present a never-before-seen reel of footage from "Huntsman" alongside star Charlize Theron.
"I'm going to present a piece that I've cut specifically for WonderCon, a five-minute piece that is very different from anything else that's been seen," Sanders told MTV News recently. "We made our announcements at Comic-Con and just over a year later, it's been a quick turnaround on this project, so it's going to be nice to go back to WonderCon this time and show them an original piece, tailored specifically for them."
Fans will also get an exclusive look at new footage from "Battleship," presented by director Peter Berg, Brooklyn Decker and Alexander Skarsgard.
Sony: "The Amazing Spider-Man," "Looper," and "Resident Evil: Retribution"
Sony is set to get your Spidey sense tingling with a sneak peek at new footage from director Marc Webb's interpretation of the web slinger's origins as portrayed by Andrew Garfield. Webb will be joined by star and current "it" girl Emma Stone. Fans will also receive a first look at the intriguing sci-fi thriller "Looper," in which time travel is utilized by hired killers. Writer/director Rian Johnson will make an appearance with star Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who plays a young version of Bruce Willis' character in the film. Sony is also sending up a sneak peek of the latest installment in the "Resident Evil" franchise, "Resident Evil: Retribution," with director Paul W.S. Anderson and star Milla Jovovich.

Chris Cornell Filling In For Robert Plant On Led Zeppelin Tour? That's News To Him
By Chris Harris

The trek would feature original guitarist Jimmy Page, original bassist John Paul Jones and Jason Bonham taking over on drums for his late father, John Bonham.

</P><P>
</P><P>"I have not been approached so far to fill in for Robert Plant on the upcoming Zeppelin tour, but that isn't to say I won't be," Cornell told MTV News. "I've heard that from about 200 people now, and it might be one of those situations where it's just an online rumor or it might be true. But if you see anyone from Led Zeppelin around, let me know. I think I should actually fill in for Jimmy Page on the Robert Plant/ Alison Krauss tour."
</P><P>
</P><P>Cornell's denial comes just a day after <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/aerosmith/artist.jhtml">Aerosmith</a>Aerosmith guitarist <a href="http://aeronewsdaily.com/blog/2008/10/31/aerosmith-guitarist-says-page-trying-to-motivate-plant-to-return-to-zeppelin/" target="_blank">Brad Whitford confirmed reports</a> that frontman Steven Tyler recently met with Zeppelin for an impromptu jam session. "They did it for fun," Whitford said during an appearance on the syndicated show "Todd N Tyler Radio Empire." "I actually think Jimmy wanted Steven to come over and play a little bit because I think he was trying to light a fire under Robert."
</P><P>
</P><P>Rumors of a Zeppelin reunion tour have abounded since the iconic band played <a href="/news/articles/1576186/led-zeppelin-give-fans-a-whole-lotta-love-at-reunion-show.jhtml">a single reunion set</a> last year at London's O2 Arena. <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/twisted_sister/artist.jhtml">Twisted Sister</a>Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider added fuel to the fire last month when he revealed that the group was thinking of touring, with or without Plant.
</P><P>
</P><P><a href="http://newsroom.mtv.com/2008/10/13/another-led-zeppelin-rumor-almost-debunked/">According to Snider</a>, the rest of the band told Plant, " 'We're all rehearsed, we're ready to go. Here's a gazillion dollars on the table. If you don't do it, we're going out with this kid [Myles Kennedy].' "
</P><P>
</P><P>"And he can sing the sh-- out of Zeppelin," Snider added. "They're going to hope that Robert, at the last minute, will go, 'OK,' and step in."
</P><P>
</P><P>In a recent interview, Jones told BBC Radio Devon that a new singer was being sought to take over for Plant. "We are trying out a couple of singers," he said. "We want to do it. It's sounding great, and we want to get on and get out there."
</P><P>
</P><P>But Jones insists that he, Page and Bonham aren't interested in finding a Plant clone. "It's got to be right," he said. "There's no point in just finding another Robert. You could get that out of a tribute band, but we don't want to be our own tribute band. There would be a record and a tour, but everyone has to be onboard."
</P><P>
</P><P>Of course, even if Zeppelin were to approach him, Cornell might be too busy to take over vocals for the band. His upcoming <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/timbaland/artist.jhtml">Timbaland</a>Timbaland-produced solo LP, <a href="/news/articles/1596730/chris-cornell-debuts-timbaland-produced-track-on-tv-show.jhtml"><i>Scream,</i></a> will be released within the next few months. Cornell told MTV News last month that some of his fans might consider <i>Scream</i> something of a departure, but he doesn't see it that way.
</P><P>
</P><P>"It makes me happy that there's this perception that I have a group of fans that I'm now sort of throwing a curve at and what their reaction will be," he said. "But I've been in this situation so many times already. When I put out [1999's] <i>Euphoria Morning,</i> my main goal was to create an album that sounded like nothing I'd done in Soundgarden, and I did that. I also had that with Temple of the Dog, where I showed up with songs that weren't necessarily riff-based. And then, of course, the pairing of me and members of <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/rage_against_the_machine/artist.jhtml">Rage Against the Machine</a>Rage Against the Machine had everyone sort of speculating about what that would sound like.
</P><P>
</P><P>"It feels like I've done this so many times that when it's presented to me as being a departure, I feel that's a misconception," he added. "I feel like that's my theme at this point."</p>
